The Council Bluffs Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hosting the fourth annual Easter Art Show March 27 - April 5, 2026 at the Mormon Trail Center at Winter Quarters in Omaha Nebraska. To celebrate Easter, we call for artists to submit works that center around the theme "Light of Life" referencing the scripture John 8:12 "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
We welcome 2D and 3D artists from Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota to apply. Each artist can submit up to three pieces of artwork. 2D and 3D media may include painting, pastel, drawing, textile art, photography, floral arrangement, printmaking, sculpture, glass, stained glass, clay, ceramics, wood, leather, stone, metal, archival printed digital art, and mixed media.
There will be three categories of participants: 1) Adults 18+ 2) Youth ages 12-17, and 3) Children ages 11 and younger. The children’s art may follow the prompt: Jesus Christ is my Savior and Friend
Deadline for submissions is February 8th, 2026. Artwork will be on display March 27 through April 5. During the show, the artwork will be available for viewing only. Any sales will need to take place between artist and buyer after the show is completed.

Public display of sacred art is protected by our religious freedom and we think that is pretty special too. We are grateful to have the opportunity to host a Christ focused art show in North Omaha and would like to gift framed fine art to faith based organizations in our community.

Several pieces of artwork will be curated for the show and donated to Christian organizations in the Omaha Metro Area. They will be recognized and presented with the work at the opening reception.

Volunteer to Host at the Easter Art Show
Hosts duties include: welcoming visitors, distributing information about the artists, and offering a scavenger hunt game for youth. Two volunteers are needed per shift.
